Carla Lopez

Program Assistant

Carla Lopez joined NCLR in June 2012 as a DREAM Summer Intern. In January 2013, she became a permanent staff member. In her current role as NCLR Program Assistant, Carla assists with the legal helpline and works closely with the immigration project, conducting case research on country conditions, current immigration laws, and local and national resources, and preparing documents for asylum and deferred action applications. Prior to joining NCLR,
Carla was a High School Retention Intern with Yik’al Kuyum during her time at UC Davis, where she mentored high school students and developed educational workshops on cultural and social justice.

Carla is a member of the East Bay Immigrant Youth Coalition and Board Member of ACCESS Women’s Health Justice in Oakland. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Chicana/o Studies from UC Davis in 2011.
