Leigh Morgan, Vice President & Global Head of Product Development Human Resources at Genentech, has worked in both the public and private sectors in a number of leadership roles. She served in North Carolina Governor Jim Hunt’s administration, where she was a key leader in establishing the AmeriCorps National Service Program in that state. She was also Associate Director at the Carolina Justice Policy Center, and led a number of statewide, grass-roots organizing efforts addressing criminal justice and gender equity issues.
In 2001, she was one of 30 North Carolina leaders awarded the William R. Friday Fellowship in Human Relations. She is a volunteer business advisor with Pacific Community Ventures, a member of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund Campaign Board, and serves on Genentech’s African Americans in Biotechnology Advisory Board. She completed her Master of Science at American University in Washington, D.C., and earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University, where she was point guard for the Duke Women’s Basketball team. Leigh lives in Oakland, CA, and loves the arts, dance, and athletic adventures of all kinds.
