Shriya joined NCLR in July of 2019. As a legal assistant, she works closely with attorneys to assist them in their cases, provides support for the NCLR Legal Information Helpline, and ensures that the legal team is organized. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Biopsychology, Shriya knew she wanted to work at a non-profit focused on civil rights law. She chose NCLR not only for its commitment to intersectionality within its LGBTQ+ advocacy work, but also its involvement in other issues such as reproductive rights, immigration, and prison reform. Shriya hopes to continue her advocacy work by attending law school in the near future. In her spare time, she enjoys eating noodles (of all varieties) and hanging out with her favorite dogs.
