Bill to Protect LGBT Youth from Conversion Therapy Moves to NY Senate
What an exciting week for LGBT equality! On Monday, the New York State Assembly passed a bill that will protect LGBT youth from conversion efforts.
This news comes on the heels of the passage of the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA). As we celebrate these wins, we must also recognize that time is of the essence. We have just days left before the State Legislature closes its doors until 2015.
We must build on the momentum that we’ve seen this week and call on the New York State Senate to pass GENDA and the bill to protect LGBT youth from conversion therapy this session!
Below you’ll find the phone numbers for the Senate leadership, and you can find your local Senator’s contact information here. Call today and help make 2014 more equal for LGBT New Yorkers!
Dean Skelos, Senate Republican Leader
David Carlucci, Independent Democratic Conference Whip
