Achieving LGBTQ Equality Through Litigation, Legislation, Policy, and Public Education

Double Your Gift for Justice and Equality

We’re getting closer to our Matching Gift Challenge deadline, and because we’re all so busy this time of year, I wanted to take a quick minute of your time to update you on our progress.

As of today, generous gifts from committed people like you have brought us to an impressive total of $71,735. That’s close, but we still need your help to reach our $100,000 goal by the end of the year. Whatever you can contribute today will be matched dollar for dollar by an amazing donor. Won’t you please help us today with a tax-deductible gift?

As I’ve said before, 2015 has been great in so many ways for the LGBT community, but this is no time for us to slow down. I couldn’t make the case any better than one of our donors, Brian, who included this note with his generous gift last week:

“Personally I think gay marriage moving forward is amazing but I think it has brought out the worst in the people who do not like who we are. I think that NCLR is going to need even more money and more attorneys to fight as the haters work to try and limit or in retaliation take away as many other rights as they can under the cover of ‘religion.’ “

Right now we’re experiencing backlash from our marriage equality victory. Not only do our opponents want to roll back that win, they continue to attack our rights with our families, in our jobs, and with the most vulnerable segments of our community, immigrants and youth.

That’s exactly why NCLR needs your support now more than ever. And why I hope you’ll take this special opportunity to have your tax-deductible gift matched dollar for dollar. But don’t wait! The Matching Gift Challenge ends in two days!

I look forward to a day when NCLR no longer needs to fight for equality and justice, but we are far from there. Until that time—and with your amazing support—we promise to be here day in and day out fighting to make life better for every LGBT person in this country.

Hopefully,
