Successfully represented an incarcerated transgender woman who was denied treatment for GID by the Idaho Department of Corrections.
NCLR helped Y.G., a transgender woman from Mexico who suffered severe abuse from her family and gangs because of her gender identity. After a brutal gang attack, she fled to the U.S., but was soon caught and detained with male prisoners in Yuba County. Y.G. obtained amnesty in 2009.
