Dear Friend of NCLR,

Wow. It’s only been a few days since I emailed you, and thousands of people have already signed our open letter to the students of Minnesota’s Anoka-Hennepin School District.

It’s the largest school district in Minnesota and it’s enforcing a discriminatory "gag policy" that prevents school staff from talking about LGBT issues.

This gag policy has created an environment where LGBT kids are relentlessly and cruelly bullied—and NCLR has filed a lawsuit against the district on behalf of bullied kids and their families.

For those of you who have already signed the letter—thank you! I hope you are ready and willing to take the next step. Click here to share the letter with everyone you can think of who might be willing to help.

Would you also consider making a donation of any amount—large or small—to help get our letter printed in the Minneapolis Star Tribune on the first day of school? Every little bit will help!

And finally, if you haven’t signed the letter, what are you waiting for? Click here to sign on and let the kids of the Anoka-Hennepin School District know you have their backs! We’ll hand deliver the letter with your signature to the students we’re representing in our case against the school district.

Thank you so much for all your help. We’ll keep you updated as the case—and our campaign to show kids we all have their backs—progresses.

In solidarity,

Take these three simple steps to help LGBT youth in Minnesota:

Step 1: If you haven’t already done so, show the students of Anoka-Hennepin School District you have their backs and add your name to our open letter.

Step 2: Spread the word! If we’re going to have an impact we need a lot more people involved. Share the open letter using our easy tool or share via Facebook or on Twitter.

Step 3: Make a donation of any amount to help us print the letter as an ad in the Minneapolis Star Tribune on the first day of school.
