Aaron joined NCLR as a legal assistant in October 2012. Prior to arriving to the San Francisco office, Aaron taught US History to high school students in Mexico City, and expanded the curriculum to include the history of the LGBT community in the United States. Aaron also worked with the El Arco Iris while in college, an after-school tutoring program that allowed him to mentor, teach, and learn from the Puerto Rican youth of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Along with LGBT rights, Aaron is also interested in equal access to education, and worked with the Institute of Higher Education Policy in D.C. to study how Native American and Latino communities envisioned and pursued higher education.

Aaron earned his B.A. with distinction in 2011 from Amherst College, where he majored in History. His focus was violence in the 1850s Mexican-American borderland, and he hopes to expand his knowledge of this topic at NCLR by learning about how migration and borderlands can also be understood in terms of gender and sexuality.
