Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood of Northern New England

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England sought a declaratory judgment that the New Hampshire Parental Notification Prior to Abortion Act is unconstitutional. The Act prohibits abortions for minors unless the parents have been notified. Both the trial court and the Court of Appeal held that the Act is unconstitutional. NCLR joined an amicus brief to the United States Supreme Court urging the Court to affirm the lower courts' decision. The brief was authored by Legal Momentum. On January 18, 2006, the Supreme Court unanimously affirmed its precedents that abortion laws must protect women's health and safety.
