Because we’re a legal organization and we dedicate so much of our resources to our legal services and programs, we just can’t be everywhere we want to be. So when we’re in your area either at a benefit event or a legal workshop, we really hope you’ll join us and bring your friends and family. It’s a special opportunity for us to connect with you in person.

If you’d like to host your own event to benefit NCLR, download our Benefit Event Kit (pdf) and get your party started!

Disney World Girls in WonderlandExamining Homophobia in Sports
Thursday, May 23, 2013
With NCLR Sports Project Director Helen Caroll

Despite the demise of "Don’t Ask Don’t Tell", and the hope that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is on its last leg, homophobia and transphobia are far too common in collegiate and professional sports. While a handful of high profile allies have stepped into the white-hot spotlight think Brandon Ayanbadejo and Chris Kluwevery—few openly LGBT athletes or coaches are seen in the upper echelons of major sports. Horizons’ all-star panel will lead a discussion that will assess the issue, and some of the important work being done to help level the playing field for LGBT athletes and coaches.
