We Can Save the Court!
(San Francisco, CA, January 27, 2006) — Thanks to the leadership of key Senators who are calling for a filibuster, we have a chance to prevent the confirmation of Judge Samuel Alito to the United States Supreme Court. The National Center for National Rights asks you to stand with us and take immediate action to urge your Senator to support the filibuster.
Judge Alito's record is clear: he opposes reproductive freedom and will use his position on the court to undermine this fundamental right.
"Our legacy and the legacy of our children are imperiled by the nomination of Judge Alito to the United States Supreme Court, "said Kate Kendell, Executive Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights. "We simply can not quietly accede to the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice who by every indication does not value reproductive choice, individual privacy, or reasonable limitations on executive power."
Urge your Senator to vote no on cloture for the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito and to support the filibuster. Every phone call, every fax, every email makes a difference.

NCLR was the first national LGBT organization to join civil rights and women's groups in calling for a filibuster. Please help us continue to be a strong and independent voice for civil rights.
The National Center for Lesbian Rights is a national legal organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education.
