Philanthropy Assistant

Ana Garcia is the Philanthropy Assistant for NCLR where she is responsible for gift entry, donor lists, and acknowledgments in addition to administrative support for the Executive Director and Philanthropy team. She comes to NCLR from the Pacific School of Religion, having worked as their Development Associate, with an impressive background in fundraising, donor management, and Raiser’s Edge. She is excited to be part of the NCLR team and to have the opportunity to serve as a creative partner to other philanthropy team members in creating campaigns, messaging, and donor relations.

Ana grew up in Oakland, CA as the daughter of immigrant parents from Jalisco, Mexico, and was raised with a strong sense of social justice. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in English Literature and Religious Studies and subsequently obtained her Masters in Education from the University of San Francisco. She has a long career in non-profits orientated towards family resources and youth development. She worked as an ELA teacher in East Oakland before stepping into philanthropy work. She remains committed to the advancement and upliftment of marginalized communities through education and legislation.
