Eleven families have filed a motion to quash to prevent the US Department of Justice from gaining access to private patient information of transgender youth across the country. This comes after the DOJ has issued subpoenas to hospitals across the country to demand they turn over private medical records of individuals under 18 who have received transgender related health care.
The district court has granted a motion to quash requests in the subpoena to Children’s National Hospital for patient medical records. Defendants have appealed this decision to the 4th Circuit.
